THE PROMISE BENEATH THE MANGO TREE
Every evening, little Amina waited beneath the old mango tree at the edge of their small village. She knew that when the sun painted the sky orange, her father would appear, tired from working long hours in the fields but always carrying the warmest smile.
"Papa!" she would shout, running into his arms.
No matter how exhausted he was, he would lift her high into the air as if she weighed no more than a feather.
"Wealth isn't measured by money," he often whispered. "It's measured by the people who love you."
Life was never easy. Their tiny house leaked whenever it rained, and many nights they shared one simple meal. Yet Amina never felt poor because her father filled every day with laughter, stories, and hope.
One rainy season, her father became seriously ill. The strong man who once carried heavy sacks of maize could barely stand. The little savings...
