THE LANDLADY’S SECRET

(Episode 1)

When Kelvin received the call from Mira that evening, he was already lying on his bed scrolling through his phone lazily.

“Please come over,” she said softly. “I’ve missed you.”

Kelvin smiled immediately.

Mira had been talking to him for almost three weeks now after they met at a small shop near the estate. She was beautiful, light-skinned, and always playful whenever they chatted.

Without wasting much time, he changed his clothes and headed out.

The evening air felt calm as he walked through the narrow streets toward her apartment.

When he finally reached the gate, he called her.

The phone rang once.

Then disconnected.

He frowned slightly and dialed again, but this time someone else answered.

“Hello?”

The voice belonged to a woman.

“Uh… I’m looking for Mira,” Kelvin replied carefully.

“She’s upstairs,” the woman answered. “Come in.”

A few seconds later, the gate opened slowly.

The woman standing before him looked mature, elegant, and confident. She wore a simple black gown that fitted her body perfectly.

Her perfume alone nearly distracted him.

“I’m Vanessa,” she said calmly.

Kelvin nodded politely.

“I’m Kelvin.”

She smiled faintly.

“I know.”

Something about the way she said it made him slightly uncomfortable.

Still, he followed her quietly upstairs.
