THE GOAT THAT WANTED AN EDUCATION
It was a bright Monday morning in Kijani Village. The sun was shining, birds were singing, and the pupils of Green Valley Primary School were settling into their classrooms after the weekend. Some were chatting excitedly, others were finishing their homework at the last minute, while a few were still trying to wipe sleep from their eyes.
Mr. Kamau, the funniest teacher in the school, walked into Grade Five carrying a pile of books.
"Good morning, class!"
"Good morning, Mr. Kamau!" the pupils replied cheerfully.
"I hope everyone is ready to learn today."
"Yes, sir!"
Just as the lesson was about to begin, something strange happened.
"Maaah!"
The sound came from outside the classroom.
The pupils turned their heads toward the window.
Standing there was a fluffy white goat, calmly staring into the classroom as if it were waiting for the lesson to begin.
Mr. Kamau ignored it and continued writing on the blackboard.
"Maaah!"
This time the goat sounded louder.
The class burst into giggles.
"Eyes on the board," Mr. Kamau said, trying not to smile.
But the goat had other plans.
To everyone's surprise, it gently pushed the classroom door open with its head, walked inside as confidently as the head teacher, and marched straight to an empty desk.
