Puzzles fit, that's is goal. For every puzzle ever created, the idea is for them to fit. Which is how we have been taught to live life. Grow up,go to school, get a job and start a family. It was a simple plan, what could possibly go wrong?
Well, the pumps, the turns, the valleys and the slippery slope up the hill. Nobody factored in any of that, which is how we ended up where we are.
At the moment,I have realized that it really doesn't have to fit. There's are reason why puzzles come broken. The fun is in the fixing it,the excitement is in the attempts because if it were in the end product it would come fixed wouldn't it?
If you ask me what my favourite thing to do is,I'll tell you it is in finding out that it is doesn't have to fit to be perfect.
I have known for a minute, that most times it doesn't fit.For family to work, step one is to accept that you can be born ,raise exactly the same and turn out differently. It is in accepting that you can disagree with someone 100 percent and still love them because they are family.
We put people who aren't family in a pedestal, we want them to be perfect for it to work. We want someone that is perfect, for our needs ,for our lifestyle and we forget that we change every single day.
It doesn't have to be perfect fit, they joy is in the work in progress. In assembling the pieces, watching the pieces fall into place . Embracing each piece, together with its broken edges knowing that's what makes them unique.
Looking at the pieces that are brand new,the parts that haven't been scarred yet. Wanting to protect them gently so that nothing happens to them. To hold them in softness as they find their place. Knowing that even if they don't find a place they fit,the goal is to ensure they know it`s okay. That no matter what happens, in falling,in fitting, not fitting: it is okay.
Just because it's not perfect doesn't mean it does not belong.
