It’s been a while, let’s chat…

Hi, it’s been a minute. I hope you and your loved ones are doing okay. I haven’t written something here in a while and today I felt like have a casual chat and maybe share a story- my first dating experience in the city.

This has been a crazy and exciting year so far. I’ve found myself juggling work, school, mentoring… and a hundred un-read Tinder messages, come on man is lonely 😂. This leads us to that story I told you I was going to share.

The year is 2022, July. A month after I had just moved to Nairobi. A few months before I moved to Nairobi, I met this lady online, a kindergarten teacher from Kiambu. She was cool and she gave me the proverbial butterflies. I had no doubt in my mind I would be catching sunsets with this girl for years to come. We quickly hit it off and started talking for weeks about ourselves, our hopes and dreams, and our shared interests in psychology and tech. I was smitten, and I couldn’t wait to finally meet her in person. Heck, this girl even knew things about tech! You see, I have a wild heart. I fall hard- you know what I mean 😉.

We had not gone on a date until when I moved to Nairobi. We agreed to meet on a Sunday. We would go to church together and then later go grab a drink. You’re probably wondering why grab a drink was italicized. We’re getting to that in a sec.
