You would think that the number of the times I have had my heart broken into very many tiny pieces that I would stay far away from Love. You would imagine that having heard the sound, like glass hitting concrete over and over again that I would finally learn my lesson and run as far away from love as humanly possible. They say, “Once you have been hurt enough, you build walls.” And walls I built, so high that they were compared by a professional to those of Kenya's well-built Kamiti maximum Prison.

Maybe it is because from the very beginning, I know what unconditional love feels like. My mother made sure of that. She loved me without hesitation, without limits, without conditions. She taught me that real love doesn’t hide, it doesn’t shrink, it doesn’t apologize for existing. She leads by example, loving us, showing up even when we mess up. Believing in the process even when the appropriate thing to say is "I told you so" So how else can I go through life any other way than loving...
