There are people who leave your life with a goodbye. Then there are people like chege, who leave in silence, only to come back as if nothing ever happened.

I liked him. Maybe more than I should have.

We had our moments. We'd cook together, gossip about everything and nothing, laugh until the food almost burned. One of my favourite memories is the day we cooked together while he played the guitar. It wasn't anything extravagant, but it felt like peace.

One day, I asked him, "When was the last time you truly felt loved?"
