For a long time, everyone called me strong.
I believed them.
I had survived things I never thought I would survive. I had learned to smile even when my heart was breaking, to say I was fine even when I desperately wanted to stop and ask me "unaendelea aje"
But there comes a moment when even when the strongest, I mean super women get tired.
Mine came with a baby involved. She was only an year old. Sleeping in my arms and a single bag beside my feet.
I had just left my husband's place. I didn't leave because I had another man waiting for me.
I didn't leave because I ha money.
I left because I had reached a point where staying felt harder that starting over.
I rented a small single room in the streets on kayole. For the first fee days I felt relieved.. I felt free.
I remember I could look at my daughter Sleeping...
