I had to walk out of that interview!

I received this text from one of my mentees, and with their permission I decided to share.

"Hi Moses. I walked out of an interview earlier last week. I don't say that with pride. While I'm desperate for a job, I will not let anyone disrespect me. Here's the story. About five weeks before that, I had applied for a DevOps role, the company is called {redacted}. I got invited to the first round of interviews at 4PM, which we had to postpone to 6.30PM. The meeting was via google meet, I saw one google account, but there were three people in the same room on the other end, (call that red flag 1). So the questions went from production environments (L3, and L7 Load balancers) some linux commands (such us sed utility) and general service availability and troubleshooting in production. I got past that and 4 days later I was invited for a physical, timed, practical interview. During the interview, there were two of us, we were given a 5 paged assessment. Here's what we were required to do:

Build a Laravel module that accepts a message and contacts list in CSV

The message will have variables that will have to be dynamically picked from the csv i.e "Dear {name} your salary to account {account} has been processed successfully.

Laravel should process <50,000 records anything more should be sent to a Python service

The python service should accept the message and contacts in json, then send a success or error if for example the phone number is incorrect.

Python service should then expose real-time metrics of the records and status.

Laravel should have an analytics...
