I never slept that night. I kept wondering asubuhi itafika saa ngapi.

We woke up very early than usual that day. My mama went straight to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for us. My papa and I prepared oursleves.

"Nachie, Nachie, the breakfast is ready." I heard my mom shouting from the kitchen.

I had already took my shower, dressed up and brushed my teeth. I ran to the kitchen to pick food.

"Where is dad" she asked.

"He's the dinning" I responded.

I carried the food to the dinning as mama headed to the bathroom to prepare herself too.

Within 30mins we were done eating, preparing ourselves and ready for journey.

My Dad prayed a short prayer and we took a motorbike to stage. Papa cleared everything and we entered the bus. We took window seats.

Our journey from Busia to Nairobi started at exactly 6:50 am. The scenario was beautiful. I had never travelled from my home county. This was the first time.

"Mama look," I could shout everytime I see a tall bulding and vehicle moving past us.

"They are beautiful, right," my mother would respond calmly with a smile on her face. The bus took and turn and stopped. I even thought we had already arrived in Nairobi. "Tuko Nakuru," I heard one of passengers who sat behind us telling her neighbour.

We arrived in Nakuru ata around 1:30 pm.

"Shukeni, wale wa kujisaidia Kuna choo pale na pia kama unasikia njaa unaeza nunua chakula pale ule. Nimewapa dakika 30 kabla turudi tuendelee na safari yetu" one man shouted at the front. I guess he was the driver.

We alighted the bus. Mama took me to the washroom.

"Nachie utakula nini," she asked. I responded calmly, "Soda na Chipo"

Mama bought some sodas, chips, water and some snacks. We headed back to the bus.

At exactly 2:00pm the bus took off. I hate my food and slept of.

"Nachie, Nachie,"I heard my mum's voice kwa umbali calling me. "Wake up, we are in Nairobi."

I woke up. We alighted the bus. My mum took my hands as my dad carried our bags.

We headed to Thika matatu stage. We were heading to my aunt's place. She was staying with her family in Juja, along Thika road.

Crossing the roads full of speeding vehicles was another problem to me.

"Just hold my hand tightly," I heard my mum telling me.

We walked past fast moving people and vehicles. Everyone was rushing, I kept wondering where are they all going in such a hurry.

The buildings in Nairobi town were so beautiful and tall.

We arrived at the stage and we aboard matatu to Juja. We arrived in Juja ata around 7pm. Our aunt came for us and went to her house which was some few kilometers from the stage.

This was my first and memorable visit to Nairobi.
