My body refused to move.

The icy breath lingered on the back of my neck as if someone was standing only inches behind me.

Every instinct screamed at me to run, but my legs felt as heavy as stone.

A voice, cold and calm, whispered into my ear.

The pressure on my shoulders vanished.

I spun around.

There was no one.

The street was empty except for passing cars and a stray dog digging through a rubbish bin.
