The club’s bass rattled the floor, sending waves of sound through bodies swaying in unison. Zuri maneuvered through the crowd, her camera raised, capturing flashes of neon light reflecting off sweaty faces and glittering outfits. Every click felt like freezing a heartbeat of the city.
From the DJ booth, Jayden’s fingers danced across the mixer, coaxing life out of every note. His eyes scanned the crowd but kept returning to Zuri. He had noticed the photographer earlier — the way she moved, focused, yet slightly detached, like she belonged to the city in a way no one else did.
