Synopsis
The Kamiti Code is a high-stakes, fast-paced "Mtaa" crime thriller set in the tech-driven underbelly of Nairobi. The story follows Kevo, a brilliant but struggling 22-year-old electronics technician from Eastlands who is forced into the world of cybercrime when his mother requires an emergency KSh 150,000 surgery by midnight. Desperate, Kevo accepts a job from a local underworld broker, Brayo, thrusting him into a dangerous conspiracy involving a rogue telecommunications insider and high-level political corruption.
The narrative centers on a weaponized cloned SIM card belonging to a powerful, corrupt politician. What begins as a desperate tech heist quickly spirals out of Kevo's control. After successfully draining KSh 2 million from the politician's accounts, Kevo becomes the target of a relentless, multi-sided manhunt. On one side is Sergeant Mwangi, a ruthless undercover detective who will stop at nothing to bust the syndicate. On the other is a private mercenary hired by the politician to retrieve the compromised SIM card and erase all digital witnesses.
Spanning across the bustling markets of downtown Nairobi, high-end Airbnbs in Kilimani, and the gritty streets of Rongai, The Kamiti Code explores themes of desperate survival, the illusion of digital security, and systemic corruption. It is a cat-and-mouse game where every keystroke could mean life or death, leading to an explosive showdown in an abandoned industrial warehouse where Kevo must use his tech skills to execute a total reset.
