After I gave birth, I stayed in hospital for two days because it was a normal delivery.

He was present. He paid all the bills and took his baby home. He was very happy.

At home, everything was okay.

He even got someone to help me with the housework. His sister also lived near us, so she would come to see me every day because he was busy with work.

For about one month, everything was fine.

Then December came.

We went for a Christmas vacation and stayed there for about five to eight days. After that, we went back home.

Our baby was growing well. We attended clinics, and everything seemed okay.

He used to come home late, but honestly, I thought that was just his routine.

Sisi hatukukosa chakula. We had no major problems, and at the end of the day, he would come home.

I trusted him.

Then, when our first baby was six months old, I found out I was pregnant again.

At that time, he was still working. The problem was that his salary was no longer coming in on time. It kept piling up.

I remember one day we had no groceries at home.

He had just come from work in Mombasa late at night, so I let him rest first. Later, we decided to go shopping.

As we were driving towards the supermarket, his phone rang.

He picked up.

It was his boss.

And from that phone call, everything took a turn.

He explained to me what had happened at work. There was a workmate accusing him of removing the company's driver from a trip and replacing him with his own friend.

After that, he was no longer being allocated any work.

He still went to the office, but there was nothing for him to do.

No trips. No work. No money coming in.

Luckily, we had some savings.

So we started withdrawing from our savings and surviving.

At first, I wasn't too worried. I thought, “Maybe things will get better soon.”

And for one whole year, we managed to pay our bills.

We survived.

But things became really difficult when my second-born was born.

My second baby was born at Ruaraka Hospital in Kasarani.

By then, he was jobless and I had a small baby who needed my care.

We were really struggling.

I knew I couldn't just sit and watch things get worse.

So I started looking for remote jobs.

I wanted something I could do from home while taking care of my babies.

But scammers found me before real opportunities did.

I lost money.

I lost time.

And honestly, I lost a little hope each time I realized a website was fake.

But I didn't stop searching.

Then one day, a friend I had met on Facebook introduced me to Facebook monetization.

I followed the process and somehow, I got monetized.

I was so happy.

Finally, I thought, “Maybe this is my way out.”

But the earnings were slow.

Very slow.

Still, I kept going.

Because when you have children depending on you, even the smallest hope feels worth holding onto.

I didn't know that my journey with Facebook would one day become part of the story I am telling today.

But that was only the beginning.
