Moustapha sat across the table, the pint of beer raised halfway to his mouth. He paused and put the pint down, seeing the head start to dissipate. He leaned back, took a deep breath then looked at her before opening his mouth to say:

He finally pulled up. The glass and took a very deep swig out of it, almost downing the whole of it in three seconds. He hated the taste of beer as well as alcohol but right now, the beer was hydrating his now parched throat like nectar from the gods. It was also a cover for him in case things went sideways, he could always claim inebriation to his current actions. It was a well known secret that he was a flyweight drinker teetering close to the teetotaller side.
She let a shadow of smile play across her lips and replied: “Okay, I should say, It isn't unrequited. I do like you. I care about you, and obviously I don't want you disappearing from my life.
