Adrian's home was nothing like Amelia had imagined.
It wasn't simply a mansion.
It was enormous.
A private gate opened onto a long driveway surrounded by perfectly trimmed gardens. The house itself looked more like a palace than a home.
Amelia stepped out of the car and stared.
“You live here alone?”
“Yes.”
“All of this?”
“Yes.”
She shook her head.
“That's ridiculous.”
Adrian glanced at her.
“You'll get used to it.”
“I don't think I will.”
For the first time, a faint smile appeared on his face.
Inside, a housekeeper greeted them.
“Welcome home, Mrs. Vale.”
Amelia nearly choked.
Mrs. Vale.
She wasn't used to hearing it.
Adrian noticed her reaction.
“You'll have your own room.”
“Good.”
He led her upstairs.
Her room was larger than the entire apartment...
